For each blog post I want to see how you are developing as an artist. Pick three Artistic Behaviors and provide evidence about how you’ve used each one. Evidence can include photos of finished artwork, images from your sketchbook or work in progress and should support your written response.

2 pictures =
1 in progress
1 completed
1. Artists create original art.
-think creatively
-develop original ideas
How did you use your own unique ideas in your work?
Did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original?

2.  Artists develop art making skills.
- learn techniques and processes
- explore media
Did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project?
Did you gain skill with familiar materials?

3. Artists communicate through their work.
- self-expres
- include personal interests
- examine important issues
What is this artwork intended to say?
What issues are you examining through your artwork?
How is this artwork about who you are or what you like?

4. Artists take risks.
- try new things
- experiment
Did you try something that you weren’t sure about as part of this project?
Did you pick a material or technique that was new or different over something that was familiar?

5. Artists collaborate.
- share ideas and knowledge
- teach
- help
Did you ask another student for feedback during your work process?
Did someone help you understand important information or inspire you?

6. Artists solve problems.
- try alternative solutions
- use mistakes as learning opportunities
How did you respond to challenges that occurred as you worked?
Did your work take an unexpected turn due to a mistake or did something happen that was unplanned?

7. Artists reflect.
- analyze work and process
When did you step back and analyze you work during this project?

8. Artists understand the art community.
- art in history
- current art and artists
- how technology affects art
- local arts community
How did any of the descriptors above affect your work?

Throwing on the pottery wheel is really hard work!
They took 2 weeks to learn how to center and pull a cylinder.
Then we began with mugs and handles to bowls to plates!  Here are some mugs!

Art 1 again is really working on their creativity and elements of art.
They had to create many different  sketches before they did their final work for this project.  They were to create a letter, an animal and a crazy shape, to fill with zentangles that are all the rage right now!

Art one has been working really hard on their elements of art!
For their 1st project they used a font of their choice to create a word that they added texture to the background in varying layers to create a shadow.
